Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese State President said he expected that the two nations’ business communities will share new initiatives, launch innovations, uphold potentials and advantages to make contributions to consolidating and deepening the two nations’ Strategic Partnership.

He asserted that the future of Viet Nam-RoK relations depends on the vision, determination, activeness and innovation of the two countries’ businesses.

President Moon Jae-in supposed that the achievements in the two sides’ relations are partially attributed to their enterprises, highlighting the number of more than 5,500 RoK businesses having launched operations in Viet Nam.

Participations in the event included Vietnamese Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue, RoK Deputy PM Kim Dong-yeon, leaders from the two nations’ ministries and agencies and representatives of thousands of businesses from both sides.

On the sidelines of the Viet Nam-RoK Business Forum, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue held a meeting with his Korean counterpart Kim Dong-yeon.

The Vietnamese Deputy PM asked for joint efforts to achieve the US$ 100 billion in two-way trade value and create conditions for both countries’ goods to enter each market.

He asked the two nations’ agencies to reach consensus on the agenda and timetable for periodical meetings and exchanges between the two nations’ high-ranking leaders.

The host stressed the need to launch a specialized high-level cooperation mechanism, suggesting signing a bilateral treaty to boost economic growth on the back of financial cooperation and other fields.

Viet Nam is enhancing restructuring the financial system, he said, proposing the RoK’s  Government advocate and encourage its large banks to join in the restructuring process of the Vietnamese commercial banks.

The two governments are responsible for creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises to foster partnership, he said.

Mr. Kim Dong-yeon affirmed that the RoK’s Government supports its banks to expand operation and deeply join the financial and banking restructuring process  in Viet Nam.
